Rachel Barber is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) with over 20 years of nursing experience and a clinical focus in aesthetic medicine since 2013. She brings a deep commitment to patient safety, education, and natural-looking results.

Rachel began her nursing career as a registered nurse (RN) in high-acuity settings including emergency medicine, pediatric ICU, NICU, chemotherapy infusion, and perioperative care. She earned her master’s degree in nursing with honors from Sonoma State University in 2011 after previously completing bachelor's degrees in both nursing and history.

Rachel has trained with leading experts in the field of aesthetics and bioregenerative medicine, including Julie Bass Kaplan, FNP‑BC, Franck AC Joly, LAc, Dr. Steven Yoelin, Dr. Jonathan Sykes, Dr. Cory Maas, Dr. Shino Bay Aguilara and Dr. Mauricio De Maio.  She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgical Nurses (ASPAN) and stays current on advanced techniques in injectables and skin rejuvenation.

Born into a military family and raised across multiple states, Rachel's family returned to Ukiah after high school to be near her grandparents. She now serves patients from across Mendocino, Sonoma and Lake Counties, offering medical aesthetic services in a calm, private setting.

At Lux Medical Aesthetics, Rachel sees each treatment as a collaborative process. She takes time to explain procedures, answer questions, and help patients feel safe and confident in their care, whether it’s their first visit or their fiftieth.
