Rachel Barber, MSN, NP-C

Board Certified Nurse Practitioner + Aesthetic Nurse Specialist

Rachel Barber is a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in aesthetics (cosmetic injectables and skincare) in Ukiah, California. Her aesthetic goal for her clients is to not alter their facial features by over-treating, but rather to rejuvenate and gently address areas of the face that are showing signs of aging in a subtle and complementary way.  Available services at Lux include designing treatment regimens using medical grade skincare, as well as administering cosmetic injectables: Neuro-modulators (Xeomin, Dysport, Botox) and HA Dermal Fillers (Restylane and Juvederm Products).

Rachel is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and completed her undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree and her Master's of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Sonoma State University School of Nursing.

Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Rachel worked as an acute care Registered Nurse for 10 years in various settings such as the Emergency Department, Pediatric ICU, Oncology and Surgical Pre and Post-Anesthesia Care.  As a Family Nurse Practitioner she has worked in Emergency and Occupational Medicine and as an Instructor of Registered Nursing at Mendocino College.  In 2013 Rachel chose to exclusively focus her energy and focus in the specialty of Facial Aesthetics because of her personal love of noticeable results from consistent quality skincare and because she is especially blessed with an artistic eye for naturally and conservatively placed cosmetic injectables.

Rachel is pleased to have partnered with Medical Director, Dr. Brandon Begley, DO, in 2017 to create Lux Medical Aesthetics.  She continues to gain expert level injection training by attending annual aesthetic conferences and advanced injector courses.  Rachel always utilizes safe injection technique, studies facial anatomy and has many years of experience with micro-cannulas for filler to enhance safety, comfort and lower the risk for bruising.
